The chilling, late autumn winds blew with fierce persistance over the gloom of graveyard flowers, present in this time of year only to be found in meadows such as these. Oh but they yet had they're own silent beauty to them, dull colors marking the death of so many just in this very plain. This barrow field, not one of sorrow. The air tainted with sweet victory along with the unspoken words of lost soliders. The land was that of Casadile, owned rightfully for centuries, and all the townspeople intended it to stay that way.
Youthful eyes of clear ocean mist peered off her pastel ivory face, rolling her watery gaze across the now peaced battle field. Dressed in warm dyed fabrics(burgendy red), clinging to her stealth strained frame. Her dress was less casual then a typical day out in the countryside, decked with buff lacey trim along hems and collars, for this wasn't the most casual affair she'd encountered this day. This was however a day she felt she needed to visit her father, even if his body no longer exsisted on this earth. Marlaina's beliefs were monthesic, though this she felt was the only place she could talk to Cebruis. It was alone for now, though it was early in the morning, and a good day to hunt, she foresaw this changing, yet she had to come to relieve things opressing her heart.
Dismounting from the dusty chesnut mare, fur more dull red then Marlaina's light chocolate mane, now not only bitten by fleas, but age aswell. She slid with ease from the cumbersome swayback. The young female felt completely alone with nature, as where she wandered afew feet, standing what seemed like middle area of the dried meadow.
She knelt down, not what seemed in sadness nor rejoice, though respect for the ones lost, moreover her father, the one she felt the family needed most. She'd come to this place every once or twice a year to unload of what events had been happening in the family, just in case he didn't already know.
Being as alone as she ever could feel, she relaxed. Knowing the many troubles of the family, she could blame it on her father not being there, how they now were growing up in poverty, she and her brother to raise the younger girls now that Senilla was what seemed or maybe even morbidly hoped for what pain she seemed to grusemly suffer daily. Was it evil to wish death upon an old women so frail it caused pain just to watch her breath. Perhaps selfish to want it, no longer would they have to suffer to watch Senilla suffer, and no longer would they have to take care of the suffering. It was all beligerant phsycology Marlaina couldn't quite settle in her own mind of a mid 17 years.
Her chin quivered down, the kneel changing into a more comofortable sitting positon as her tension released like an arrow across the sky.
"It's hard to believe you've been gone so long. Jacobi has matured alot. I know he is troubled in the mind on many issues, I think he doesn't know what to think, and he's trying to provide for us, but yet he wants to leave....by means of the sea of course, I don't know where, but it's the Sea.
Temprence and Audrianna are doing as well to be expected with Mother's illness. I don't expect her to be with us much longer. In a cruel fear, I almost hope she isn't. She'll be far better off with you,"
She paused, lightened shards of blue starting to water with the overflowing emotions, even if it was a relxing atmosphere, the hatred of unfixable problems troubled her sould. Stiffened hands, cooled by the winter's influence, hastily groped deadened grass mindlessly as she focused more on the conversation at hand.
"I think Audrianna is going to take it the hardest. She has such a pure heart, the youngest, I feel sorry she got the least amount of time with either of you.
But I think we will fare over the cold weather. If proverty persists, I've promised to let the plants go for the winter and take on another job elsewhere, it should be easier once mother is gone. I hope the girls will see it as a joyous event.
She finished in such a monotune, staring off, nothing in focus of the particular. She couldn't think of anything else she wanted to say, so in silence she sat, just thinking to herself. With the scene of events, she was still in such willing terms it would seem as her thoughts revolved only around her sisters.
