Saule examined her hand with proud interest, holding it up prominently in front of her face even as she ignored Gwen's gesture - it felt as though there was now a stain on her forehead, spreading although the mark Saule had left stayed in place and unmoving.
"The body speaks of what words cannot express," she remarked coldly, glaring down at Gwen. "And in this case, the body has expressed it perfectly. Would you rather I have taken your offer without protest? What use would that have been? Should I strive to better myself when I honestly believe there is no way to do so?"
Saule snorted mentally. So this was how she wanted to play? Saule could play games. Tirian, too, seemed to be more attentive than before. He glared at Gwen, copying his mother although Saule chided him with those same eyes.
"My class," Saule replied, "is only considered low. It is a matter of perspective as all things are."
Here she smirked.
"And if only for the complexity of things, you must recognize that not only does class change, but so too does knowledge."
Saule shrugged, anger receding as quickly as it had come. In truth, it brimmed just below the surface, but whenever it slipped out, Saule stuffed it back in and did not allow it to escape the barriers her skin (among other things) formed.
[ooc // I'm failing in dialogue. I know. Just pretend I actually said something worth responding to.]
